On 22 and 23 April 2021, the European Commission organised a New European Bauhaus Conference, some three months after the launch of the initiative's "co-design phase". The New European Bauhaus gives a cultural dimension to the European Green Deal and aims at accelerating the green transition of the built environment to achieve the EU climate targets.
The Conference was opened by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, David Maria Sassoli, President of the European Parliament and António Costa, Portuguese Prime Minister, on behalf of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It also heard from some high-level speakers and saw the launch of the first New European Bauhaus Prizes. Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and Elisa Ferreira, European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, leading this initiative in the Commission, also participated and shared their vision for the New European Bauhaus, the goals and aims, and the next steps.
Bauhaus Energy is a proud supporter of New European Bauhaus and we wish the commission and everyone involved in this exciting initiative every success.
